Hazel Chapus, 86, a resident of Loyalton of Harrisburg for the past seven months, formerly of Williamstown passed away Friday afternoon at the Harrisburg Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Williamstown, April 22, 1923 a daughter of the late William Showers and Margaret Schell.

Hazel was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School, a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown, a former member of the Williamstown Senior Citizens and a social member of the Williamstown American Legion.

Hazel enjoyed listening to music, dancing, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.  She loved talking with anoyone that she came into contact with.   She will be dearly missed.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph R., 1992, a son Joseph D., 1996 and a step-brother, William Showers.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl A. Hammaker, Dauphin; 2 grandchildren, Michelle Chapus, Lebanon; Joshua Hammaker, Williamstown; daughter-in-law, Candy Chapus, Wildwood, NJ, a nephew, Gregory Showers, Williamstown.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 16th from the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown with Rev. Kathleen Kuehl.  Burial will be in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.  Viewing will be from 10-11 am at the church.
