Norbert L. Mahoney, 83, of Lykens passed away Tuesday at the Schuylkill Medical Center, East, Pottsville.

Born in Lykens, Sept. 1, 1925 a son of the late Cornelius and Mae Krobath Mahoney.

He was a W.W. II  United States Navy Veteran.

Norbert was retired from the Upper Dauphin School District.   

He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Lykens where he served as the sexton of the church and former school for many years.   He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Lykens where he was past grand knight.  A member of and former commander of the Lykens American Legion and a member of the Williamstown American Legion.  

He was pre-deceased by his wife Kathleen Nolan Mahoney, January 24, 2009.  Two brothers, Joseph and Cornelius Mahoney.  Three sisters, Genevie Helt, Anna Koppenhaver and Marie Buggy.

Surviving are seven sons, Robert, CA; Cornelius, Lykens; Norbert, Tower City; James, Manheim, Michael, Williamstown, Edward, Harrisburg and Vincent, Williamstown. One sister, Dolores Zilinski, Lykens. 13 Grandchildren  12 Great Grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 11th at 10:30am from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Lykens with Rev. Darius Moss as celebrant.  Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 at the church.  Burail with military honors will be Monday, July 13th at 10:00am from Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers donations should be made to his church 732 Main Street, Lykens PA 17048.
