Betty Jane (Whisler) Hoffman, 85,  of  Williamstown, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Born in Williamstown, May 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Roy Elwood and Edna Mae (Houdeshel) Whisler.

She was a 1942 graduate of the former Williamstown High School. Betty retired as a self-employed Beautician in Williamstown.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been a member of the Choir, Junior Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and President of the Women's Organization.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Williamstown Senior Citizen Center and the Boro of Elections for the Williamstown.

She was preceded in death by her son Keith Bradley Hoffman, who passed away at the age of seven from Leukemia on May 17, 1958 and her beloved husband Galen Paul Hoffman who passed away on October 17, 1967, on day short of their 25th wedding anniversary.  Three Brothers, Kennenth, Keith and Roy of Harrisburg and one sister, Mae Wiest of Pillow.

She is survived by her two sons, Galen and his wife Carol and Brad and his wife Wendy, both of Williamstown.  6 grandchildren,  2 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 5 great step grandchildren.

Services will be conducted on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 11am from the Immanuel Lutheran Church with her pastor, the Rev. Kathleen A. Kuehl officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.  A viewing will be held from 10-11 am with an Eastern Star services at 10:45am.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her church, 134 East Street, Williamstown, PA  17098.
