Stephen Markovich, 81, of Wiconisco Avenue, Tower City passed away Friday at his home.

Born in Forestville, August 14, 1928, a son of the late Thomas and Anna Batask Markovich.

Stephen was a Navy Veteran of the Korean war.

He retired after 27 years of service with Reiff and Nestor Co., Lykens.  He was also a coal miner.

He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City and the Tower City American Legion.

In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary Kleczek and Anna Laskey, three brothers, John, Andrew and Matthew Markovich.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Margaret M. Wood Markovich; One daughter, Rebecca Stover, Tower City.  Two granddaughters, Kristina and Rachel Stover, Tower City; two sisters, Catherine Bernetskie, Minersville and Barbara Lecher, St. Clair.  Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral procession will leave Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, Tuesday at 10:00 am for Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.   Following interment services, a memorial mass will be celebrated at 12 noon from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City with Rev. Dominik Kalata.  Memorial donations may be made to Tower Porter EMS  P.O. Box 33, Tower City, PA 17980.
