George M.  "Yut" Garber, Sr. 84, of Greenfield Street,  Williamstown, passed away Tuesday at his home.

Born in Williamstown, April 5, 1925, a son of the late Michael and Justina Suchar Garber.

George was a WW II Marine Veteran. He retired in 1990 from the Department of Interior as a Federal Mine Inspector.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Williamstown; Knights of Columbus, Lykens, Williamstown American Legion, Williamstown Liberty Hose Company #1; Gratz V.F.W. and the   Tower City Loyal Order of Moose.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Schell Garber; One son, George M. Garber, Jr. and his wife Brenda, Elizabethville, One daughter, Gwen M. Davis and her husband Paul, Finleyville, PA.  One brother Michael J. Garber and his wife Jean, Williamstown. 6 Grandchildren, Richard and John Garber, April James, Phillip, Sarah and Aaron Davis. 4 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 8th at 10:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown with Rev. C. Anthony Miller as celebrant.   Burial with military honors will be in the parish cemetery.   Visitation will be from 9:30-10 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to his church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, c/o parish office, 732  E. Main Street, Lykens PA 17048.
