Eugene G. Cooper, 87, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away February 19th in Silver Spring.
Eugene was born in Lykens, a son of the late George Cooper and Ethel Cooper Yoder. He was raised in Tower City and graduated from the former Tower City High School. He was a Marine Corp. veteran of W.W. II.
He worked from Chesapake and Potomach telephone company, where he was a liaison to the white house in the 1960's. He retired in 1982 as executive personnel director, with over 47 years with the company. He then became a real estate agent, retiring in the early 1990's.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, LaVerne Ludwig Cooper; Four daughters, Amanda J. Cooper, Kimberely McCullough and Stacy Volland all of Maryland and Alison Cooper-Terrell of New Jersey. Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 27th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City with Rev. Charles Oldland. Burial will be private in the Greenwood Cemtery.
