Carl Shomper, 88, of Williamstown, died Saturday, May 16th.

Born in Reinerton, April 14, 1927, a son of the late Mitchell and Eva Carl Shomper.

Carl was a 1945 graduate of the former Porter High School.   

Carl proudly served his country with the United States Marines during W.W.II

He was the retired owner of Shomper's Service Station, Williamstown, also had owned and operated Shomper's Car Wash and More Precious than Gold Spring Water.              .

He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church; Williamstown American Legion and the Liberty Hose Company, Williamstown.

Carl believed family first; work second.  He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing.  He lived his life to the fullest.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Rex Carlton Shomper.

Surviving are his wife, Constance Challenger Shomper, to whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on May 17th; a son Todd Shomper and his wife Julie, Williamstown; two sisters, Joan Minnich and her husband Harry, Tower City and Charlene Wenzler, Williamstown.  Nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial with military honors will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory should be made to the following organizations,  Wiliamstown EMS; Williamstown Methodist Church, Williamstown American Legion or Williamstown Liberty Hose Company.
