Dean R. "Tip" Evans, 88, of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
 
Born in Tower City, January 7, 1927, a son of the late David and Kathryn Kiehl Evans.
 
He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.  Dean was a W.W. II Army Veteran. 
 
He retired from Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville.
 
He attended the Ebenezer E.C. Church, Williamstown.  Dean enjoyed painting, doing crafts and could always be found  working around his house.  He was a fan of Penn State football; Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
 
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Avonelle James Evans, December 26, 2005.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Evans, Williamstown; two sons, Robert Evans and his wife Martha, Tower City and Rodney Evans,  Williamstown. One granddaughter he dearly loved, Coral Evans, Tower City.  One brother, David Evans, Camp Hill and a sister, Margaret Gregory, Reading.  Nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 23rd at 11 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City.  Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.  Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.   To sign the guest book visit www.dimonfuneralhome.com
