Dustin A. Rhoads

August 25, 1975 ~ January 12, 2018 (age 42) 42 Years Old



Dustin A. Rhoads, 42, of Wiconisco,  passed away early Friday, January 12th at his home with his family by his side after a  five year long courageous fight against cancer.
 
Dustin was born in Harrisburg,  August 25,1975, a son of the late Kirby Sr., and Kathleen Hirsch Rhoads.
 
He was a 1994 graduate of the Dauphin County Technical School.  He was also a United States Army Veteran.
 
Before becoming ill, he was employed as an accomplished drywall hanger/finisher for R & R Drywall & Plaster, Harrisburg.
 
Dustin was a very active member of the Wiconisco Fire Company No.1, where he currently served as the Captain and the Vice President.   He was a former driver for the Williamstown EMS.; al life member of the Millersburg Fire Company and the Short Mountain Gun Club.
Dustin was an avid bowler; he enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or spending time on the river.
 
He is survived by his wife, Jody Whary Rhoads; two children, Ryan Rhoads, Lykens and Britanie Rhoads at home;  a brother, Kirby Rhoads, Jr. and a sister Kourtney Rhoads both of Millersburg.  His maternal grandmother, Shirley Hirsch, Lykens.  Nieces and nephews, Mickayla Armor,Kailynn Snyder, Kolby Jury, Kamden Rhoads, Mattis Rhoads and Keegan Kauffman; aunts, uncles and cousins.  Dustin is also survived by many friends, especially his brother and sister firefighters.
 
Jody and her family would like to thank the entire community for the love and support shown to them during Dustin's illness. 
 
Funeral services for Captain Dustin A. Rhoads will be held, Wednesday, January 17th at 11:00 am    from the Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating.  A viewing will be held from  9-11 am at the church.  Military honors will be held at that time also.  Following the services a fire company procession will take Captain Rhoads past the Wiconisco Fire Company one last time.    At that time  family and friends are invited to stay at the fire company for a luncheon and time of fellowship.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the  Wiconisco Fire Company #1, P. O.
