Elizabeth M. "Betty" Carr, 81, of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday at the Hershey Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier in the day in Williams Twp.
Born in Tower City, August 28, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Mabel Yeager Jeffco.
Betty was a retired bookkeeper at Goldfine, Philadelphia.
Betty was a very active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and a Religious Education Teacher. She also was a member of the Charismatic Prayer Group, Legion of Mary, and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was the Sacristan of the church. She was a social member of the Williamstown American Legion.
Betty's life revolved around her family and friends, her church and her love for animals, especially her dog Emily.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Offenback Ralph, 2003.
Surviving are her husband, Charles "Budd" Carr; one son, Elmer Offenback; two daughters, Catherine Offenback Priore and Karen Offenback Hinton all of Philadelphia; four brothers, John, Gene, James and Ron Jeffco all of Ohio. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, June 6th at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown with Rev. C. Anthony Miller as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory should be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, c/o Parish Office, 732 Main Street, Lykens, PA 17048. Dimon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
