George A. Shuey, 78, of Specktown Road, Lykens, passed away Friday, January 12th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.
Born in Tower City, June 20, 1939, a son of the late Paul Shuey and Margaret Myers.
George retired as a service department manager at Palmer Reed Motors, Valley View. He was previously employed in the vending industry with Servomation and Kanvko Vending.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by two grandchildren, George Klinger and Bubba Bond; two sisters, Gerri and Linda.
George will be remembered for his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed antique cars and restoring them. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his wife, his daughters and their families.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Shipman Shuey, to whom they would have celebrated 27 years of marriage in May. Eight daughters, Deb Taylor (Charlie), Millersburg; Patti Leitzel (Tim), Millersburg; Darla Bush (Brad), Loyalton, Kasey Kocher (Erin), Perkasie, PA; Beth Marsden (Dave) Stevensville, MD; Gerlinde Bond (Paul), Lykens, Kelley Morgan, Tower City and Misti Kattner (Mark), Williamstown. Brothers, Paul, Larry and Jim Shuey; Jim, Billy, John, Linsey and Donnie Myers; Sisters, Elaine Lepley, Maxine Moppin and Jane Brinley. 13 grandchildren, Tosha, Joshua, Ashlee, Trey, Brandon, Jason, Tawny, Chase, Kolby, Kylie, Courtney, Logan and Noah. 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 7 pm Thursday, January 18th from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City. Visitation will be from 6-7 pm at the chapel.
