Gerald J. Frew, 83, of Tremont, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home.
Born in Zerbe, November 29, 1934, a son of the late George and Marjorie Birmingham Frew.
Gerald was a 1953 graduate of the former Tremont High School.
Gerald was United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War, where he served on the USS Dashiell, earning the rank of 1st class.
He retired as an electrician from J. Robert Basley and Penn Equipment.
He was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Tremont and the Newtown Gun Club.
His life revolved around his family, he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons baseball games. He will be remembered for his outgoing and friendly personality.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by three brothers, George, Robert and Donald Frew.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Wilda Ochs Frew, three children, Gerald O. Frew, Tremont, Cindy Workman and her husband Jamie, Williamstown and Scott Frew and his wife Amy, Tremont; six grandchildren, Tiffany Gilbert, Keisha Hummel, Keara Suprock, Jamie Workman II, Scott M. Frew and Steven Frew; eight great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Services will be held Monday, April 2nd, at 7:00 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City. Visitation will be from 6-7 at the chapel. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
