Harold L. Reidler, Sr.

August 14, 1925 ~ February 12, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old


Harold L. "Johnny" Reidler, Sr, 91, of Tremont, formerly of Donaldson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

He was born August 14, 1925, in Muir, eldest child of Samuel and Ethel Tobin Reidler.  His parents gave him the nickname "Johnny" and it stayed with him unitll later in working year's operating a bulldozer and his friends added "Dozer" to his name.  "Johnny Dozer" had a lifelong love of homer pigeons and was well known in the racing of winning pigeons.  He was also a Honey Beekeeper. Johnny was a disabled WWII Veteran, where he excelled in sharp shooting.   Johnny was also had 45 faithful years of service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Forrest Fire Warden.

He was married to Emma Harner Reidler who preceded him in death on July 31, 2011.  

He is survived by three sons: Lt. Colonel Harold Reidler, Jr, USAF ret. and his wife Linda of Holden, Missouri; Randall Reidler, Ashland, John "Craig" Reidler and his wife Danette, Pottsville; five daughters, Carol Witmer and her husband, Kenny, Inverness, Florida; Fontaine Fisher, Pine Grove; Minnie Lucas, Hegins; Deborah Derr and her husband David, Tower City; and, Elizabeth Wolff and her husband Luther, Tremont. One brother, Charles Reidler, Wernersville; three sisters, Joan Berkheiser and her husband Harold, Schuylkill Haven; Janet Lengel and her husband Robert, Pine Grove and Claire Coleman, Hegins. Also survived by 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Jenny and husband Henry Carl, Herndon. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Ellinger and her husband Joseph; a grandson Sam Shoop; a great great granddaughter, Jacarlee Marie Christie; a son-in-law, Joe Fisher, Brothers; Robert Reightler and his wife Helen, Samuel Reidler, Jr. and his wife Nadine and Leslie Reightler and his wife Carol; a sister in law, Betty Reidler and a brother in law, Theodore Coleman.

Johnny did not want a funeral service. Arrangements are being handled by the Dimon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Tower City.  Interment beside his wife and a family farewell will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Fearnot.
