Jacob "Ron" Soliday, 82, passed away Sunday evening at his residence in Tower City.
Born in Tower City, May 3, 1935 a son of the late Jacob and Ethel Schreiner Soliday. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Wolfgang, Faye Hand and Betty Wise
He was a 1953 graduate of Tower City High School.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Ron worked for the Railroad in Harrisburg and retired from the former AMP Incorporated, Williamstown with over 30 years of service.
He was of the Protestant Faith and a member of the Williamstown American Legion. He was of the Protestant faith.
Ron's great joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and giving "pocket money". He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Williamstown Legion.
He is survived by his son Jeff Soliday and his wife Lisa, Tower City; a granddaughter Shalee Forsythe and her husband John, Tower City; grandsons, Shaun Soliday and his wife Krissy, Wilmore Kentucky; Joshua Soliday and Josiah Soliday, Tower City; great granddaughters, Avonlea and Rosalie Forsythe, Tower City; a sister, Catherine LaBore, Tower City.
Following Ron's wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Joel McGarvey officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be made to the Twin Valley Alliance Church, 9781 St. Rt. 209, Williamstown PA 17098 or the Williamstown American Legion, 123 W.
