Jane L. Smith, 94, of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday at the Tremont Health and Rehab.

Born in Tower City, September 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Howard and Christina A. Long Trautman.

Jane was a graduate of the former Tower City High School.   

She was a WW II Navy Veteran.  While in the Navy, Jane was with the Navy Nurse Corp and became a registered nurse.

She worked as a registered nurse for the former AMP, Inc., Williamstown. 

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was the first woman to serve on the board; she also was a member of the church choir.   She was a former Den Mother for the Williamstown Cub Scouts.

Jane's life revolved around her family.

She was predeceased by her husband John Smith, 2001; a son, Jeffrey Smith, 1989; three sisters, Harriett Reiner, Anna Mae Trautman and Betty Otto; a brother, Karl Trautman.

Surviving are her children, John V. Smith (Trish), Florida; Karl M. Smith (Candy), North Carolina and Susan J. Snyder (Rick), Williamstown; a daughter-in-law, Perla Abitanto, Lake Wynonah; 7 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.  nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial with military honors will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.   In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the  Liberty Hose Co. #1,  225 W. Broad St., Williamstown, PA 17098 or the Williamstown EMS, P.O.
