John H. "Goose" Geist, 78, of Williamstown, passed away Monday, May 25th  at the Hershey Medical Center.
 
Born in Williamstown, March 4, 1937, a son of the late John and Mildred Rowe Geist. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
 
John retired from after 40 years of service from the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Labor and Industry.
 
He was of the Methodist Faith.  He was a very active member of Liberty Hose Company # 1, Williamstown joining at the age of of 21.  He served on numerous committees, including  fire police and a trustee.   He was always there to lend a hand wherever needed.
 
He was an avid outdoorsmen enjoying hunting, fishing or just walking in the mountains.
 
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a step-son, William Schultz, 2007.
 
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Glenda Paul Geist; a daughter-in-law, Terri Schultz, Middletown; two grandsons, Zachery and Justin Schultz, Middletown.
 
Services will be private with burial in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.  Memorial donations in John's memory should be made to Liberty Hose Company #1, 225 W. Broad Street, Williamstown PA 17098.
