John R. Welker, 87, of Wiconisco, passed away Tuesday night at the Manor of the Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
Born in Tower City, August 10, 1928, a son of the late John and Anna Peters Welker.
John was a WW II United State Navy Veteran.
He was a retired machinist from Reiff & Nestor, Lykens.
He was of the Protestant Faith, a member of the Williamstown American Legion.
He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he was extremely proud of especially his two granddaughters.
He was an avid outdoorsman and Penn State fan.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Holden and Joyce Blyler.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ethel Keiser Welker; a son, Jack Welker and his wife Sheri, Wiconisco; two granddaughters, Kelli Brunmeier, Louisiana and Jessica Olson and her husband Thomas of Pennsburg; two great grandchildren, Coralyn Rose and Bryce Brunmeier; one sister, Grace Keiter and her husband Jack, Tower City. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6th at 11 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Burial with Military honors will be in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco. Visitation will be from 10-11 Saturday at the chapel.
