Joseph C. Bast, 87, of Williamstown passed away Wednesday with his wife by his side.
 
Born in Williamstown, October 28, 1927, a son of the late Joseph and Eva Page Bast.
 
Joe was a 1946 graduate of the former Williamstown High School. 
 
He was a Army veteran of W.W. II and Korea.
 
He was a retired computer programmer with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
 
Joe was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown;  a life member of the Williamstown American Legion, Williamstown Liberty Hose Company #1 and the Williamstown V.F.W.
 
For over 29 years Joe enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Halifax.
 
Surviving are his wife, Grace Messner Bast, to whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on October 25th.  He is also survived by cousins and friends.
 
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26th at 11 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City with Rev. Kathleen Kuehl.  Burial with military honors will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.  Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.  Memorial donations in Joe's name should be made to the Williamstown American Legion, 123 W.
