LaVerne Shammo, 91, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday morning at ManorCare, Camp Hill.
Born in Williamstown, August 29, 1926, a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Sharp Shammo.
LaVerne was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.
LaVerne was an active member of the Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, John Shammo, who was killed in action in the Korean War.
Surviving are her sister, Sandra Welker (James), Lykens; a niece, Gaye Heintzelman (Scott), Mechanicsburg and a nephew, Michael Welker (Tracy), Harrisburg; two great nieces, Sarah and Hannah Heintzelman; a great nephew, Caleb Heintzelman; numerous cousins and her church family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 am from Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown with Pastor Joel McGarvey. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in LaVerne name should be made to, Twin Valley Alliance Church, 9781 St. Rt. 209, Williamstown, PA 17098.
