Leslie R. "Pepper" Kimmel, 83, of Tower City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday at the Manor of the Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
 
Born in Pottsville, November 2, 1931, a son of the late Charles and Anna Kimmel Kimmel.
 
He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School
 
In 1955,  Leslie founded the Meadowbrook Coal Company, Lykens, a business which he was dedicated to and took great pride in.
 
A deeply faithful and religious man, he last attended the First United Methodist Church, Millersburg. He was a member of the Christian Business Men's Association.
 
He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Joan Thompson Kimmel, December 31, 2010, a sister;  Alma Powers; brothers, Charles, George and Wilbur Kimmel.
 
Surviving are a son, Scott B. Kimmel and his wife Tammy, Elizabethville; two daughters, Tracy L. Malick, Linglestown and Tammy Weaver, Tower City; a brother, David Kimmel, Valley View; a sister Donna Wetzel, TN; four grandchildren, Emily Priar, Andrew Kimmel, Kara Malick-Wetzler and Olivia Klinger; three great grandchildren, Kaden Hubler, Avery and Reid Priar.  Nieces and nephews.
 
Religious services will be held Wednesday, May 6th at 11:00 am from the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt.  Visitation will be from 10:30-11 at the church.  Private burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Christ United Methodist Church,  Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.
