Lois M. Reiser

Lois Machamer Reiser, 91, of Tower City,  died on February 7,  2018.

Lois was born on October 1, 1926 to Elizabeth (Thompson) and Harry Machamer.  She was a graduate of the former Tower City High School and also attended business school.  

Lois worked at Muth & Mumma Dental Lab, in Harrisburg, and later as a co-owner of the former grocery store, Reiser’s Market, in Tower City, alongside her husband Jim.  Upon retirement, Lois spent much of her available free time volunteering at the local Porter Tower Library.

She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tower City. 

She was preceded in death by:  her husband, Jim; her parents; her brother, Harold Machamer; and her sisters, Delphine Hale and Thea Mae Farrow.

She is survived by her son, Lane; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many other dear family and friends. 

Sincere thanks to all of Lois's caregivers, both those who provided in-home assistance and also the staff at Heritage Mills Personal Care Center in Tower City, as well as neighbors, friends, and family who provided much support for her over the years.

A memorial service for Lois will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, 23 February 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tower City with Rev. Lauren Blatt.   Private burial service will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
