Mary "Karlyn" Allar, 86, of  Donaldson, passed away Thursday evening, January 7th, at Tremont Health & Rehab with her family by her side.
 
Karlyn was born on August 10, 1929 in Llewellyn, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Beach Spangler.
 
She graduated from Branch Township High School and Fords School of Business.   She was a member of the Donaldson United Methodist Church and active member of the Tremont Senior Citizens were she served as Secretary and Treasurer for many years. 
 
Karlyn's life revolved around her family, enjoying get togethers with them every Saturday night.  She will be remembered for how she loved the color blue.
 
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth D. Allar on March 6, 1994; brothers Robert, John, Herbert and David; and a sister Jean Spangler. 
 
She is survived by four children:  Scott Allar and his wife Audrey, Donaldson; Carolyn Folta and her companion Bruce Kintzel, Tremont; Keith Allar and his wife Cindy, Donaldson; and Nancy Blazer and her husband Keith, Hegins; brothers James Spangler and his wife Audrey, West West Terrace; and Harry Spangler, Llewellyn; a sister-in-law Gladys Spangler, Orwigsburg.   Karlyn is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 
 
Following her wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial in Donaldson Community Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donaldson United Methodist Church, c/o Carolyn Folta, 313 West Line Street, Tremont, PA    17981.
