Paul O. "Flash" Travitz, 90, of Williamstown passed away Friday afternoon.
Born in Tower City, on flag day, June 14, 1925, a son of the late Clyde and Eva Schaeffer Travitz.
Flash proudly served his county in Navy during WW II and and in the Army during the Korean War.
He retired from Ft. Indiantown Gap He had previously owned Mid Town Market and Bakery; He had also worked for the former Cooper's Bakery, Lykens.
He was of the protestant faith; a life member of the Williamstown American Legion, where he was a cook for many years; a life member of the Liberty Hose Company # 1 and the Williamstown V.F.W.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna "Dis" Shuttleworth Travitz, a sister, Anna Cox and a great granddaughter, Amanda Bettinger.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail Bettinger, Williamstown and Judy Nunemacher (Larry), Millersburg, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Services will be held Friday, November 6th at 11 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City with Pastor Monica Romberger. Burial with military honors will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be form 10-11 at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Williamstown American Legion or Williamstown liberty Hose Co. # 1.
