Raymond M. "Butch" Bressler, 71, of Lykens, passed away unexpectedly Monday at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Raunds, England, September 20, 1945, a son of the late Dr. Raymond and Alma Nunley Bressler.
Butch was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School and the RCA Technical School, New Jersey.
He worked in the computer department for the Honeywell Corporation for 26 years; he retired as a computer specialist from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, House of Representatives. Following retirement, while living in Florida, Butch worked for Walt Disney World.
He was a very active member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City where he served on almost every board during his membership. He formerly played the flute and piccolo in Lykens Liberty Hose Company Band. He was also a former member of the Williams Valley School Board.
Butch enjoyed taking many trips to Walt Disney Word during his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with family and his beloved Saint Bernard, “Winston”.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Patricia A. Bush Bressler; his son, Raymond "Tug" Bressler and his wife Jenine, Williamstown; his daughter, Amanda Bressler, Lykens; three grandchildren, Ainsley, Alden and Kenley Bressler; his sister, Dr. Stephanie Bressler and her husband Steve Corbett, Scranton; Brother-in-law, Greg Bush and his wife Virginia, Dauphin; a nephew, Matthew Bush and his wife Kimberly, Shrewsbury; two great nephews and a great niece.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Christ Untied Methodist Church, Children and Youth Fund, P.O. Box F, Tower City PA 17980.
