Robert L. Kender, 88, of Tremont, passed away Friday at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
 
Born in Hegins Twp., January 29, 1928, a son of the late Leroy and Katie Dunkelberger Kender.
 
Bobby was a graduate of the former Tremont High School.
 
He was retired from Twin Valley Farms Exchange, Hegins.
 
Bobby was of the Methodist faith;  he played in local bands and was an excellent trumpet player.
 
He looked forward to his once a week walk to visit residents at the Tremont Health and Rehab, and enjoyed his short stay as a resident.
 
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law,Harold and Helen Kender.
 
Surviving are his nephew, Henry "Butch" Kender and his wife Fay, Tremont; two great nieces, Jessica Clark and Nicole Kender; a great nephew, Preston Kender.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins. Viewing will be from 10:30-11 at the chapel.  In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Bobby should be made to the Hunter William Renninger Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Schuylkill Area Community Foundation, 216 S.
