Ruth E. (Aulenbach) Henry, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 13th at the her residence care home in Tower City. Formerly of Hershey, she was married to the late T. Ellis Henry, Jr.
She was born September 19, 1923 to the late James M. Aulenbach and Johanna Caroline (Petsch) Aulenbach in Reading, PA. She graduated from William Penn High School and worked in secretarial and office manager positions. She retired from the Derry Township school district where she worked for many years in the school offices. She was active in her church and the order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, having toured in Europe, the continental US and Hawaii. She was particularly fond of California, where she had the opportunity to often visit with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, the beach, pets and playing the piano daily.
She is survived by two sons, James E. (and wife Marianne) of Goleta CA and Frederick E. (and Theresa) of Harrisburg PA. In addition, she is survived by her daughter-in-law Michele Hart-Henry of Wilmington DE; grandchildren: Daniel of Los Angeles CA and Linda of Goleta CA, Lisa (and Ozzie) Vega of Boyertown, Clay Henry; together with nephews Grant (and Hazel) Aulenbach of Mohnton, PA, Neil (and Anne) Aulenbach, Rev. Dr. Gene (and Vivian) Aulenbach, John (and Denise) Hinkle of Atlanta GA; Niece Elaine (and Bill) Weber of Hatboro PA and Bonnie Hinkle, together with many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son David B. of Bear DE; brothers, Paul (and Helen) Aulenbach, Arthur (and Irene) Aulenbach, Wilson (and Estella) Aulenbach, James Aulenbach (infant) and sister Lulu (and John) Hinkle; Step-son, Thomas E. Henry III (and Dottie) of Boyertown, PA.
She will be missed by many.
