Ruth M. Rhody, 87, of Joliett, passed away Tuesday evening at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Joliett, December 9, 1930, a daughter of the late George and Anna Brower Ney.
Ruth was a member of the Joliett First United Methodist Church; She was also a member of the Joliett Fire Company Auxillary.
Ruth will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother, her life revolved around them. She enjoyed doing puzzles and puzzle books.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold Rhody, Sr., February 28, 2013; a son, Harold Rhody Jr., February 11, 1998; a brother, Harold Ney; two sisters, Doris Duncavage and Thelma Steele.
Surviving are her three children, Daniel Rhody and his wife Gayle, Hegins; Terry Rhody and his wife Donna, Tower City and Sara Louise Reedy and her husband Jeffrey, Joliett; a daughter-in-law, Judy Rhody, Pine Grove; three brothers, Robert Ney and Ray Ney both of Pine Grove; Gerald Ney, Gordon; a sister, Shirley Shadle, Weishample; 10 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Rev. Ken Edwards. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. Viewing will be from 10-11 am at the chapel. Memorial donations in Ruth's name should be made to Joliett First United Methodist Church c/o Shirley Yerges, Tremont Street, Joliett PA 17981.
