Shirley A. Chubb, 78, of Tower City, passed away Thursday, April 14th  at Schuylkill Medical Center - South, Pottsville.
 
Born in Kalmia, March 24, 1938, a daughter of the late William and Ida Willard  Hoffman.
 
Shirley attended Porter Township High School.  
 
Shirley was retired floor supervisor  from Manson Wear Factory, Muir.
 
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Orwin.   Shirley enjoyed sewing, making quilts, cooking, and took great pride in her yard, where she loved planting flowers.   She will be missed by her family, friends and her beloved cats, Fred and Blackie.
 
In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by husband of fifty years, Mark Chubb, November 20, 2007; two sisters, Ellen Morgan and Mary Alice Hoffman.
 
Surviving are three sisters, Ruth Moyer, Orwin; Eva Moyer, Jonestown and Ruby Kreiser and her husband Robert Sr., Muir.  Nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19th a 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City.  Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.  Viewing will be from 10:30-11 at the Chapel.  In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Dietrich Avenue, Orwin PA 17980 or Hillside SPCA, Inc., PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
