David A. Schaeffer, 70, of Tower City, passed away Thursday evening at his home.
 
Born in Pottsville, July 19, 1947, a son of the late David R. Schaeffer.
 
Dave was a graduate of Porter Tower High School   He was a United States Army Veteran.
 
He was a retired production supervisor from Tyco, Lickdale.  He also  retired from the Pennsylvania Army Reserve at Ft. Indiantown Gap.   He was a member of the Tower City American Legion and the Orwin Gun Club.
 
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping.  
 
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Michitsch Schaeffer; a son Jon Schaeffer (Heather), Wernersville; a daughter, Tammy S. Schaeffer, Tower City; three step-children, Karen Miller (Ken), Orwin; Stacey Sherack and Charles Promensky both of Tower City; half-brother, Jack Schaeffer, Williamstown; two half-sisters, Peggy Montgomery, Harrisburg and Holly Masser, Lykens.  Six grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.
