Cathy & family
I was shocked to see Donnie's passing in the paper. I lost contact with all of you after Bill passed a few years ago. He was always there for Bill, Damon and I. He will always be remembered for his "Leiderhosen" in the German Band, playing in Eshelmen's Band in Hegins many years ago, and his performances in the Minstrals. He was always jolly and telling stories.

I will be at my brother's, but will stop and say some prayers for you on Thursday. Donny will be greatly missed by all.

My thoughts and prayers are with Donnie's family. I got to know Donnie through the Hose Company Band, the German Band and the Minstrel show. He was so much fun - he could make you laugh and have a good time. He was such a nice person, so easy to talk to and always had a smile. He will be greatly missed.

Cathy and family.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Don for many years while living in Lykens and he was a kind, fun person to be around. Always my" guardian" when I was a member of the Hose Co Band for a few years. He was the best mail carrier that I have ever encountered, he will be missed.

He'll always be Donnie the Mailman. I remember him drinking a cold glass of water in the summer days on our front porch and a hot cup of coffee inside the door on the cold days of winter. He delivered the mail to many generations in Lykens. One of my favorite stories is having my nephew Nathan believe Donnie came to my house to pick up the letter and then deliver it to his house (because, of course, we both knew Donnie the Mailman). Thanks for the warm memories Donnie. Fondly, Jaime

To the family. I am sorry to hear of Donald's passing. My grandmother (Catharine Fetterholf) always called him (spelling as she pronounced it) Dunny. As a kid riding my bike around Lykens I would see Donald delivering mail and he would always have a smile and a wave and called me his "littlest cousin". Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Heaven has another angel to watch over us till we all meet again.

We so loved our Uncle Donny. Whenever he visited us in Wisconsin or we visited a him, he made us kids feel very welcomed.
I feel lucky that as an adult, my husband and children could know him and visit him through the years. They naturally loved him and considered him a "riot" to be around.
We loved hearing the funny stories he shared, his horn playing in the German band, his performances at the minstrel shows, his wit. What a talent. We will miss him.
