Dorothy A. Bettinger, 85, of Orwin, passed away Wednesday night at the Homeland Center, Harrisburg.

Born in Sheridan, November 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Merlin and Anna Stoudt Hand.

She was a graduate of Porter Tower High School. Dot retired as a seamstress from the garment industry.

She was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton, the Orwin Fire Company Auxiliary and was a former girl scout leader.

Dot enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Bettinger, 2004; 2 brothers, 3 sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Deanna, wife of Robert Engle, Williamstown; Kathy, wife of Charles Lang, Bressler and Nancy wife, of Robert Matter, Hummelstown; a son, Randall C. Bettinger, Orwin. 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 14th at 12 noon from St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin with Rev. Lauren Blatt.
