James Harris Akins, 60, of Wiconisco, passed away Friday at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Born in Buford, Georgia, January 2, 1958, a son of Mary Alice Nobles Baker, Gainesville, Florida and the late James G. Akins.
Jim was a United States Army Veteran.
Before becoming ill he was employed by Home Depot, Saint Clair.
He was a Disabled American Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie M. Knott Akins; his children, Gwendolyn Akins Dricken, Youngstown, Ohio; Jacob Akins, Travis Akins, both of Lykens and Wyatt Akins, Wiconisco. Six siblings, Gregory Baker and Lisa Thornton, both of Florida; Michelle Akins, Stephanie Wood, Christopher Akins and David Akins all of Georgia. 5 Grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.
Privates services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc, Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt.
