James W. Riegel, Sr., 74, of Wiconisco, passed away Monday night at the Harrisburg Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on February 6th.
Born in Pottsville, April 16, 1943, a son of the late John and Catherine Schoffstall Riegel.
Jim was retired from the former TRW/Chromolloy, Harrisburg.
He was of the protestant faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting or just spending time outside. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law; David Noblit, Sr, a sister; Mary Keiter, two brothers; Charles and John Riegel.
Surviving are his long time companion, Betty Wagner, with whom he resided, a daughter, Dana M. Noblit, Herndon; a son, Dr. James Riegel, Jr., and his wife Debra, Tower City; one brother, Terry Riegel, Elizabethville; three sisters, Loretta Mauser, Halifax; Kay Deiter and Nancy Mace both of Carsonville; four grandchildren, David Noblit, Jr.; Morgan, Ben and Lydia Riegel. 2 great grandchildren, Cayden and Blake Noblit. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24th at 11:00 am from the Faith E.C. Church, 543 Center Street, Wiconisco with Pastor Kyle Roth. Burial will be in the Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. Viewing will be from 10-11 am at the church. Memorial donations in Jim's name should be made to Faith E.C. Church, P.O. Box 475, Wiconisco, PA 17097.
