Alice M. Forney

Alice Mae Forney, 78, formerly of Elizabethville, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, January 18, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Alice was born in Valley View, September 17, 1945, a daughter of the late Leon and Florence Morgan Spicher. Alice was also the niece of the late Roy and Alice Spicher Snyder, whom she considered her second parents. She attended Upper Dauphin Area High School.

She was a life long resident of Elizabethville.  Alice and her husband Larry relocated to Lebanon two years ago where they currently resided with their daughter and son-in-law.  

She was a dedicated floor supervisor for many years at the former MARS Footwear, Elizabethville.  Following the closing of MARS, Alice retired from Advanced Scientific's Inc., Millersburg where she worked for several years.

She enjoyed the simple things in life, and could often be found sitting on the patio taking in all nature had to offer, especially the hummingbirds.  Alice was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing cards and going camping.  Above all, her family was her world whom she adored and was extremely proud of.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Bob, Leon, Carl and Wayne Spicher and Michael Snyder; three sisters, Lorraine Dimon, Annabelle Coleman and Carolyn Schnoke.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Larry Forney; her daughter Annalee Baim and her husband Matt, Lebanon; a granddaughter, Shanelle Wingert; a grandson, Nathan Paul.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
