Carl D. Snyder, 91, of Elizabethville, formerly of Wiconisco, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
Born in Rough and Ready, December 12, 1930, a son of the late Clayton and Tamie Shade Snyder.
Carl was last employed by Bethlehem Steel. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He was of the Lutheran faith. Carl was a member of the Williamstown American Legion and a life member of the Gratz V.F.W.
He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, going to Penn National and following his grandchildren in all of their activities.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Leah Cole Snyder on December 2, 2019, two sons-in-law; Terry Leitzel and Keith Oxenrider, five brothers; Clayton, Truman, Thomas, Lee and Mark Snyder.
Surviving are his five children, Durene Archer (Carl), Dauphin, Mary Ellen Oxenrider, Tower City, Ken Snyder (Gail), Gratz, Steve Snyder (Ruth), Spring Mills and Wade Snyder (Michelle), Harrisburg. Nine grandchildren, Carlla Carr (Derek), Jill Archer (Bojan), Brandon, Jordan, Alix, Lydia, Andy, Ben and Lilly Snyder, two great granddaughters, Avary and Emerson Carr; a sister Mary Jane Straub, Berrysburg. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Robert Straub officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
