Charles H. Brown, Jr. (Skip), 82, of Dalmatia passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at his home.
Skip was born on October 23, 1943 in Vineland, NJ, the son of the late Charles H. Brown, Sr. and Margaret E. Brown.
He was a 1961 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School.
Skip retired from Turbine Airfoil Designs Inc. (formerly TRW) in Harrisburg.
Through the years he enjoyed boating and fishing on the river and Delaware Bay. Skip always looked forward to beach vacations, camping, crabbing, and clamming with his family. He had a knack for country living, and he enjoyed hunting, building, and horses.
He was an intelligent man with a quick wit. Skip will be remembered as a solid father and friend who loved conversing and liked to agitate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Gloria J. Brown, April 2, 2026; his granddaughter, Bethany L. Harris; his sister, Marilyn Coles.
He is survived by his son, Cordell "Cory" Brown of Dalmatia; his daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Harris of Dalmatia; grandson, Jaydon Brown of Lock Haven; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Brown of Dalmatia; bonus granddaughter, Paige Schrieber; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:30 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 at the chapel. Skip will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Trinity UCC Cemetery, Dalmatia.
