Charles and Joan Rodichok

Obituary

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, Charles W. "Chal" Rodichok, 87, passed away surrounded by his close family. His wife, Joan A. Rautzahn Rodichok, 86, joined him in Heaven three short days later, Sunday, March 12, 2023. They both passed in the same Williamstown home where they raised their family and built their life together. They celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Chal was born in Tower City on June 15, 1935, a son of the late Charles and Catherine Love Rodichok. He was a graduate of Williamson Trade School, where he learned to become a talented mason.

Joan was born in Williamstown on March 5, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Mae Zimmerman Rautzahn. She was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

Chal and Joan were both members of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown, and current members of Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Lykens.

Chal was retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot.  He was an avid Notre Dame and Phillies fan and enjoyed scrapbooking and soap box derby racing.

Joan was retired from the Williamstown Unemployment Office. She was a member of the former Lykens Garden Club. She enjoyed painting, sewing, reading, canning, baking, and gardening.

Without a doubt, Joan and Chal's family was the center of their world, and they could be often found attending all of their children's and grandchildren's sporting events. They enjoyed spending every minute together. They were inseparable in life and will now spend eternity together in Heaven.

Chal was predeceased by his brother, Richard Rodichok. Joan was predeceased by her sister, Louise Machamer.

Surviving are their four children, Theresa Darhower, Kim Latchford (George Manuel), Charles Rodichok (Joann), all of Williamstown, and Amy Zilinski (Matt), Lykens; eight grandsons, Matthew, Josh, Patrick, Chucky, Nicholas, Ian, Bryce, and Koen; eleven great grandchildren, Gabbi, Connor, Ayden, Aydellyn, Charles, Rowan, Easton, Noah, Reece, Liam, and Mila.
