Clarence L. Gibson, 77, of Tower City, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, March 26, 2025.
Clarence was born in Sudeberg, Thursday, November 20, 1947, a son of the late Paul and Hannah Wolff Gibson.
Clarence proudly served in the the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He also was retired from the United States Army National Guard, stationed at Fort Indiantown Gap.
He was a retired mechanic from Ft. Indiantown Gap, a job he held for many years.
Clarence enjoyed his time playing cards with family, spending time on the golf course, and traveling, especially going on cruises. He will be remembered from his love for raising pigeons. Clarence was also an avid Trump supporter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Shadle; brothers Robert and Charles Gibson; sisters Anna Mae Getz and Helen Hornberger.
Clarence is survived by his companion of 38 years, Kay Shadle with whom he resided with; three children, Jeff Shadle and his wife Shelly, Williamstown, Richard Gibson and his wife Vicki, Ohio, and Christina Schaeffer and her husband Paul, Pine Grove; a brother, George Gibson and his wife Karen, Pine Grove; a sister, Sue Ann Kauffman, Pine Grove; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren' nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 11:00 am from St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin with Pastor Maureen Duffy-Guy officiating.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 446 E Grand Avenue, Tower City PA 17980.
