Cloyd D. "Butch" Keister, 77, of Wiconisco, passed away Wednesday, February 12th at his home.
Born in Harrisburg, April 7, 1942, a son of the late Foster and Alma Strohecker Keister.
Cloyd attended Wiconisco High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Cloyd was a veteran of the 131st Transportation Company Army National Guard, Williamstown where he served for 26 years, and was deployed to the Persian Gulf.
Cloyd worked for Johnson Bailey shoe factory for over 19 years. He retired from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Elizabethville.
He was a faithful member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, a 27 year member of the Gratz VFW, where he served as All State Post Commander, 2014-2015. He was a member of the Elizabethville American Legion. Cloyd was also a member of the Military Order of the Cooties, Pup Tent, 92, Short Circuit, New Cumberland.
Cloyd enjoyed old cars, but above all, his love for his Lord, Family and Country was foremost.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth "Tom" and Richard "Bud" Keister; one sister Grace Keister.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Wilson Keister; four daughters, Angela M. Dietrich (Troy), Dillsburg; Annette M. Brosius, Halifax; Andrea M. Fritz (Terry) Jonestown and Anita M. Flynn (Ed), Lykens; three step-children, Lisa Daley, Steelton; Keith Ramer Trevorton and Randy Ramer, Somerset; one brother, Ronald Keister, Lykens; one sister, Doris Hubler, Tremont; a half sister, Sandy Bensinger, Lykens; two half brothers, Gary Keister, Pottsville and Lloyd Bordner, Tower City; 13 grandchildren; Robert and Tabatha Scheib; Cole, Caitlynn and Caleb Dietrich, Melody Dawson, Shana and Charles Osman; Drake and Brie Harris, Brent Keister, Nikol and Jason Flynn; 8 step grandchildren, Michael and Brett Daley; Randy Jr., Austin, Makayla, Cheyenne, Keith Jr., and Jen Ramer; 17 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15th at 1:00 pm from the Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with Pastor Annette Shutt. Burial with military honors will be in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the church.
