Cornelius Robert "Neil" Readinger, 72, of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill after a brief and courageous fight against lung cancer.
Born in Lykens on Friday, February 1, 1952, a son of the late Cornelius Henry and Diane Kaszanowski/Tymoshyk Readinger.
Neil was a 1970 graduate of Williams Valley High School. He was also proud Pennsylvania National Guard veteran.
He was a retired longtime employee of AMP in Williamstown and TYCO in Lickdale.
Neil was a current member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens and was a longtime communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown. He also belonged to the Williamstown American Legion and NRA.
He could often be found cheering on his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Green Bay Packers. Neil enjoyed being in the outdoors and could always be seen on his daily walks throughout Williamstown, always stopping to say hello. In his younger years, he also coached little league baseball in Williamstown.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Louis Readinger.
Surviving are his sister, Mary Theresa Mertzanis and her husband Peter, Langhorne. He is also survived by his cousins, John, Joe, Mike, and Greg Readinger who, along with other cousins, he considered his siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 11:00 am from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. Neil will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.
