Dale Carl Obituary

Dale "Pap" Carl, 85, of Millersburg, passed away on August 14, 2025 at Messiah Lifeways, leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, and love for family.

He was born in Reinerton on June, 21, 1940, a son of the late Donald and Grace Clark Carl. He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.

Dale proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter door gunner, a role that demanded courage, quick thinking, and unwavering loyalty to his fellow soldiers. After returning home, he built a long and respected career as a project manager for Wegman, Inc, where his leadership and dedication earned the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

A devoted father and grandfather, Dale's happiest moments were spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong car enthusiast, happiest in a garage restoring classic cars alongside his buddies and going to car shows up and down the East Coast. Dale was also deeply committed to his community as a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Millersburg, the Masonic Lodge, Tall Cedars, and the Millersburg VFW, cherishing the friendships and sense of purpose they brought to his life.

He is survived by his two sons, Douglas Carl, Enola, and David  Carl (Carin), Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Celsie, Cylie, and David Jr.; two brothers, Terry Carl (Carol) and Lynn Carl (Duane); three sisters, Lana Powell (Carl), Julia Bush (the late Ronnie), and Dawn Strohecker (the late Boyd); nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Dale will be laid to rest with full military honors in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
