Darlene M. Yerger, 71, of Tower City, passed away early Thursday morning, June 27 2024 at her daughter's home in Dauphin surrounded by her children, following a courageous fight against cancer.
Born in Lykens, October 19, 1952, a daughter of the late Stewart and Florence Workman Schell. Darlene was a graduate of Williams Valley High School.
She was employed as a secretary in the guidance office at the Williams Valley School District for over 30 years.
Darlene was of the Methodist Faith.
Above all, her family was the center of her world. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was extremely close to and proud of each one of them. Darlene could always be found cheering them on at school events and in life in general. She always looked forward to her annual beach trips with her family.
On September 16, 2022, Darlene lost the love of her life - her soul mate and husband of 49 years, Dennis Yerger. We take comfort in knowing they are now holding hands and will spend entirety together.
She is survived by her children, Danielle Williard and her husband Gary, Tower City, Dennis Yerger II and his wife Kelli, Lykens, and Denean Hielman, Dauphin; her beloved grandchildren, Logan and Faith Williard, Autumn and Aubrey Yerger, Austin Hielman, and Bryce and Cora Brunmeier; two sisters, Kathy Mace and her husband Raymond, Virginia, and Blanche Updegrave and her husband Bruce, Reading; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
