David I. Hoffman CW4 (Ret.)

David I. "Drazz" Hoffman, 96, a lifelong resident of Williamstown passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Wellspan Hospital, Lebanon.

Born in Williamstown on Sunday, September 3, 1928, a son of the late Harry and Minnie Dietrich Hoffman.

He was a 1946 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

David was a proud United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, with HQ CO, 167th Trans Trk Bn. He was also retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard and the 79th US Army Reserve Command, where he was the supervisor of Equipment Concentration Site-24 at Fort Indiantown Gap.

He was a longtime member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown and was a current member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens.

David was a life member of the Williamstown American Legion, Post 239 and the Williamstown VFW, Post 6497.

In his spare time, he could often be found reading. David also enjoyed traveling and doing woodwork. He took great care of his garden. Above all else, David's family was the center of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Molly" Larkin Hoffman, 2007; an infant son, John; brothers Mark, Harold, and Donald Hoffman; a sister, Marian Thompson.

David is survived by his three daughters, Noreen Gochenaur and her husband Mel, Williamstown, Mary Ann Hadginske and her husband Paul, York, and Terry Hoffman, Williamstown; grandchildren, Tracy Paradise and her husband Mike Sullivan, Harrisburg, Christopher Paradise and his wife Kelly, Hummelstown, Anne Diffendall, Hummelstown, Michael Hadginske, Harrisburg, Laura Schmidt and her husband Derek, Camp Hill, Matthew Hadginske and his wife Alyssa, York, Libby Schreiner and her husband Eric, Williamstown; great grandchildren, Brianna, Kate, Emily, Kolbe, Eva, Lucy, Isaac, and Blaine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady Help of Christian Parish, Lykens with Rev. Michael Opaki, AJ as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 from the church. Immediately following mass, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Porter Tower Lions Club, 517 W Grand Ave, Tower City, PA 17980. David will be laid to rest privately with military honors in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Williamstown American Legion, 123 W Market St, Williamstown, PA 17098.
