Dean E. George, 66, of Halifax, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at his home.
Born in Harrisburg on Sunday, September 20, 1959, a son of the late Clyde and Betty Stence George. He was a 1977 graduate of Halifax High School.
Dean was a proud United States Navy veteran.
He was a truck driver for most of his life, retiring from ABF Freight System, Inc.
Dean was a man of strong Christian faith, attending the Halifax Community Church. He also attended numerous bible studies in the area.
Dean enjoyed being in the outdoors. He could often be found riding his four wheeler, swimming in his pool, going on walks, or playing with beloved dogs, Balboa and Maisy. He was very handy and had the ability to fix anything. Dean had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and his "dad jokes" always had his friends and family laughing. Above all else, his family was the center of his world. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Votral George; a son, Jordan George; a daughter, Abigail Arment; two grandchildren, Caylee Kissinger and Kalven Arment; two brothers, David George (Sydney) and Stephen George (Janet); a sister, Miriam Hartwig (James); mother-in-law, Edna Votral; several nieces; numerous great nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Dean's Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Halifax Community Church, 105 Wind Hill Dr, Halifax, with Pastor Brendan Hock officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 at the church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
