Delmar P. Whary, 85, of Millersburg, passed away Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 at his home.
Born in Trevorton, April 16, 1936, a son of the late Marlin and Lorraine (Savidge) Whary. Delmar was married on August 4, 1956 in Herndon to June E. Schrader who survives him.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Delmar retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg. Wormleysburg American Legion, a life member of the Dauphin County Volunteer Fire Company Association. He was a former member of the Millersburg Fire Company where he served with the fire police. Delmar was a former police officer for the borough of Millersburg.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. He could often be found woodworking, painting or sitting on his swing in his backyard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his six sons; Robert (Brenda) Whary, Halifax, Marlin (Terri) Whary, Shamokin, David Whary, Millersburg, Steven Whary, Millersburg, Timothy Whary, Mechanicsburg and Thomas (Vicki) Whary, Lykens. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and his brother, Barry (Beverly) Whary, Millersburg.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg. Viewing will be from 1-2 at the church.
