Dennis J. Cain, Sr., 70, of Lykens, passed away suddenly, Friday morning, March 18, 2022 at his home.
Born in Bellefonte, February 9, 1952, a son of the late George and Meariam Tressler Cain. Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy from 1975- 1978 and from 1982-1989.
He was a retired corrections officer at the Camp Hill prison.
He was a member of the Miracle Revival Church, Lykens. Dennis was very active with the Lykens Senior Citizens where he served as the Vice President. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing Wii bowling and Bingo. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him great joy. In his younger years he was an avid baseball player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura M. Cain, November 29, 2019, two sons; Douglas and Jason Cain and a granddaughter Lillian Cain. Nieces and nephews.
Surviving are his three children, Georgette Gasaway (David), Williamstown, Dennis Cain, Jr., (Gretchen), Lykens and Scott Cain (Ashley), Iowa. Four grandchildren, David and Acea Gasaway, Laura and Alexander Cain.
A funeral procession will leave the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City at 9:45 am Thursday, March 24, 2022 for Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where a service will be held with Military Honors at 10:30 am. A celebration of Dennis' life will be follow at 1:00 pm from the Miracle Revival Church, 215 Hill Street, Lykens, PA with Pastor Bobby Saville officiating.
