Dolores A. Kennedy, 89, of Williamstown, went home to be with her beloved husband early Saturday morning, March 2, 2024 at her residence.
Born in Coaldale, July 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche Rowe Zigner. Dolores was a graduate of the former Lykens High School.
She was employed for many years in the cafeteria at Williams Valley School District.
Dolores was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where she was a CCD instructor. She was currently a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens. She was also a social member of the Williamstown American Legion and Williamstown Liberty Hose Company.
Dolores was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing. Above all, Dolores's life revolved around her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James Kennedy, 2009, whom she dearly missed; a grandson Jeremy Crum; a sister, Barbara Phillips; two brothers, John and Charles "Chick" Zigner.
Surviving are two daughters, Dolores "Patty" Crum and her husband Sam, Halifax, and Karen Doyle and her husband Matt, Williamstown; three sons, James, John, and Timothy Kennedy, all of Williamstown; a brother, David Zigner and his wife Gina, Pine Grove; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Lykens with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ, as celebrant. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM at the church.
