Donald W. Gauntlett

Donald W. Gauntlett, 83, of Tremont, passed away Friday afternoon, April 21, 2023 at his sister Jane's home in Tremont.

Born in Tremont, March 10, 1940, a son of the late William and Anna Carl Gauntlett.  

Donald was a 1958 graduate of the former Tremont High School. Donald received his bachelor's degree from Kutztown State College, his master's degree in chemistry from Brown University and completed post graduate work at LSU.

Donald taught chemistry at the former Tremont High School. He spent his teaching career as a chemistry professor at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, Franklin & Marshall University, Wilkes University and retired from the Lehigh Carbon Community College in 2000.

He was of the Methodist faith. Donald enjoyed traveling, family genealogy and cooking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William, 2022.

Surviving are his two sisters, Judy Wagner and her husband Ernest and Jane Boyer and her husband Steve both of Tremont, two nieces and two nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:30 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery, Tremont. Visitation will be from 2-2:30 pm.
