Donald J. Graff, 94, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully Sunday evening October 6, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
Born in Halifax on Sunday, March 22, 1930, a son of the late Chester and Hulda Whittaker Graff. He was a 1948 graduate of Millersburg High School.
Don was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He began working at the Millersburg School District in 1963 as a custodian. He he was employed for over 33 years, retiring as the maintenance supervisor.
He was a very active and faithful member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Millersburg, where he overseen the building's maintenance for many years. He was involved in all aspects of the church and belonged to numerous committees.
Don was a member of the Susquehanna Lodge #364 F&AM, Millersburg, and the Tall Cedars.
As quoted in his senior yearbook, he always had a smile for everyone and could be relied upon. This held true his entire life until becoming ill. He was a true jack of all trades who could fix anything he put his mind to. Don was also a talented woodworker. Above all else, his family was the center of his world. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great pride.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janet Koppenheffer Graff, 2021; two children, Sonia Shutt and Kerry Graff, both of whom passed away in 2024; brothers, Kenneth, Richard, Robert, and Chester Graff; sisters, Ethel Williams and Martha Graff.
He is survived by his daughter, Tami Imhof and her husband Bob, Millersburg; a son, Donald B. Graff, Millersburg; a daughter-in-law, Shari Graff, Lancaster; six grandchildren, Rob, Brandi, Elijah, Brionna, Amber, and Jordan; eleven great grandchildren, Ethan, Grace, Hayden, Zoe, Drake, Addi, Emma, Caroline, Zach, Luke, and Seth; a sister, Marion Bednar, Millersburg; a brother, Gerald Graff, Millersburg; close family friend, Barbara Bowman, Halifax; numerous nieces and nephews.
Masonic services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2024 from the Trinity United Church of Christ, Millersburg. Memorial services will immediately follow with Pastor Daniel Lepley officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 at the church. Don will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall.
