Edna L. Schotter, 71, of Gratz, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 6, 2024 at her home.
Born January 3, 1953, a daughter of the late Raymond and Florence Jackson Jones.
Edna worked at various jobs throughout her life, most recently being employed as a home health aide. She previously worked for the New Jersey Department of Law and Safety where she was recognized for her work in helping catch child predators. She was also proud to be the first female firefighter at the Laurel Lake Fire Company in New Jersey.
Edna was a jack-of-all trades and had a variety of talents and hobbies. She could often be found crafting, canning, and gardening. She had a genuine love for people and loved to socialize. She will be remembered as a motherly figure to all who knew her. Above else, Edna's family meant the world to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond W. Jones, and two sisters, Florence Hall and Barbara Cogdill.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Phillip Schotter; her daughter, Dawn Jones, Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Athena and Cam'ron; numerous great grandchildren; her sister, Trudy Jones; numerous nieces and nephews whom she treated like her own children.
Following Edna's wishes, there will be no formal services.
